Imran Rasul, CPO and Group Procurement Director, BAE Systems

Imran leads the procurement function at BAE Systems, setting direction and transformational strategy, with specific focus on the newly initiated international air and UK sectors, where he is also a member of the BAE Air Board.

Imran joined BAE Systems in June 2017 to restructure and re-align the function. Prior to joining BAE he was VP Procurement at BT. During his nine years there he worked across a range of category and business areas. From 2013-2017 he was CPO for Openreach, the group’s infrastructure arm, restructuring procurement and contract management to better deliver superfast fibre rollout across the UK.

With a passion for sustainability and climate change, he was nominated to represent BT at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and in December 2015 presented at the Paris UN Climate Conference COP21. He used this as the springboard from which to chair the BT Better Future Supplier Forum, BT’s award winning approach to supplier sustainability and carbon reduction.

Prior to BT Imran was at GSK with European procurement responsibility for marketing services sourcing across the pharmaceutical and consumer health businesses. Imran started his career on the ‘other side of the table’ operating in a number of commercial and business development roles.
