Evan Sutherland

Evan Sutherland is the Procurement and Supply Chain Director at Balfour Beatty; a leading international infrastructure group.  Evan first joined in 2015 at the start of the Company’s new ‘Build to Last’ strategy which saw the transformation of the market-leading business it is today. He was appointed Procurement and Supply Chain Director in January 2020 and has overseen the transformation of the procurement function with a key focus on systems and processes, people and development, and bottom line benefit. 

Evan has been successful in driving positive change within the function. This includes improving the gender diversity in the team (50% female) and leading on initiatives to help digitise manual processes to drive efficiencies and develop collaborative relationships with supply chain.

Prior to joining Balfour Beatty, he has held various procurement positions across aerospace and Defence (QinetiQ), telecoms (Vodafone) and pharmaceutical (AstraZeneca).  Evan holds a BSc in Economics and Msc in Management and Marketing at the University of Loughborough.
