Imran Rasul, CPO and Group Procurement Director, BAE Systems

Imran leads the procurement function at BAE Systems, setting direction and transformational strategy, with specific focus on the newly initiated International Air and UK sectors, where he is also a member of the BAE Air Board. 

Imran joined BAE Systems in June 2017 to restructure and re-align the function. His responsibilities span across Air, Land and Maritime domains, both domestically and within international operations in the Middle East and Australia. 

Prior to BAE he was VP Procurement at BT. During his 9 years there he worked across a range of category and business areas. From 2013-2017 he was CPO for Openreach, the Group’s infrastructure arm, restructuring procurement and contract management to better deliver superfast fibre roll out across the UK.    
With a passion for sustainability and climate change, he was nominated to represent BT at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and in December 2015 presented at the Paris UN Climate Conference COP21.

At BAE systems Imran has continued to promote thinking within this space on a societal basis spearheading STEM and engineering workforce opportunities into the supply base, in order to support known future technical skills gaps within the wider economy and supply chain.

Prior to BT Imran was at GlaxoSmithKline with European procurement responsibility for marketing services sourcing across Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health businesses. Imran started his career on the ‘other side of the table’ operating in a number of commercial and business development roles. Imran is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and an Executive MBA from Imperial College London.
