James is Asset Management Director at Arriva who are one of the largest providers of passenger transport in Europe. In this role he is responsible to maximise value throughout the whole lifecycle of bus and rail fleet assets with functional responsibility for procurement, fleet management, and maintenance engineering. James is leading transformations across this functional portfolio to deliver innovation, performance improvements and cost synergies in both internal operations and procured goods and services.
Prior to Arriva James worked at Babcock International Group where he led procurement in the Marine Division during a period of significant growth in the contribution of the supply chain to the top and bottom lines.
James has a master’s degree in engineering from University of Oxford. He started his career at Airbus where he spent 6 years developing supply chains for the design and manufacture of the A380 and A350 aircraft working in UK, France and Malaysia. James then worked for Mckinsey helping clients in a range of sectors deliver operational and procurement transformations.
