James is asset management director at Arriva, which is one of the largest providers of passenger transport in Europe.
In this role he is tasked with maximising value throughout the lifecycle of Arriva’s bus and rail fleet with responsibility for procurement, fleet management, and maintenance engineering. James is leading transformations across this functional portfolio to deliver innovation, performance improvements and cost synergies in both internal operations and bought-in goods and services.
Prior to Arriva, James worked at Babcock International Group where he led procurement in the Marine Division during a period of significant growth in the contribution of the supply chain to the top and bottom lines.
James has a master’s degree in engineering from University of Oxford, UK. He started his career at Airbus where he spent six years developing supply chains for the design and manufacture of the A380 and A350 aircraft, working across the UK, France and South East Asia. James then worked for Mckinsey, helping clients over a range of sectors to deliver operational and procurement transformations.
