A manufacturing engineer by degree, Nick’s procurement career started after joining Toyota in Derby following the launch of their UK manufacturing plant. An overseas posting to Brussels to join the newly formed Toyota Europe followed, where he managed various teams in the procurement of parts, materials & logistics for vehicle production across Europe
Having returned to UK he took the opportunity to move to the Gallaher Group in 2004 to take over responsibility for procurement of direct materials for the groups factories. This included supporting new plant start-ups and M&A.
Three years in BAT followed in 2007, where he took on a variety of roles, including an acquisition in Turkey, value stream mapping, head of directs procurement and global head of category management
A move to the pharmaceutical sector in 2011 saw him take on the head of operations procurement for all of AstraZeneca’s manufacturing and supply chain operations.
His most recent move saw him join Imperial Brands in 2013 as CPO to lead the establishment of a global procurement function across 40+ manufacturing locations and 180+ markets. This role was broadened in 2017 to become the new global business services director.
