Sarah Willmott

Group Head of Procurement, London Stock Exchange Group

Sarah was appointed Group Head of Procurement at London Stock Exchange Group in 2019 and will move to take up the position of Chief Procurement Officer at Nationwide Building Society in September 2023.

Whilst at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) she led the Procurement function through LSEG’s acquisition and integration with Refinitiv, developing a strategic approach to managing supplier and third-party relationships and negotiating commercial terms for some of their most complex contracts and Partnerships.

She believes in driving sustainable value for a company through long-term strategic relationships with partners and suppliers, making it easy to do business with, whilst also protecting reputation and resiliency. This can include Procurement partnering with the business and suppliers to drive strategy, customer experience, growth, innovation and efficiency through sourcing of goods and services along with co-investment, co-product creation and joint go-to-market opportunities.

Sarah is passionate about building procurement functions as a strategic asset to the business, considering suppliers as a key part of a company’s competitive advantage and creating high performing teams through diversity, equity, inclusion and great behaviours and culture. This approach aligns well with Nationwide Building Society and their core purpose of “banking, but fairer, more rewarding and for the good of society” delivering member value along with service and operational excellence.

Prior to LSEG, Sarah was CPO at Worldpay and previously has had a career working in Technology and Change across Business Consulting, IT strategy and implementation and IT solutions delivery. She has worked primarily in Financial Services.
